Magical Creatures - Aragog - Harry Potter Figurines
HARRY POTTER - Magical Creature Figurine 16 - Aragog
Aragog is a male Acromantula with glassy eyes and grey hairs on his back and legs, capable of human speech. This enormous spider was brought to Hogwarts by Hagrid when he was still a student at the school. Hidden in a dungeon at the school by Hagrid, Aragog is put in danger by Tom Riddle, who accuses Hagrid of having opened the Chamber of Secrets and tries to catch the Acromantula
to incriminate it. Thanks to Hagrid, Aragog manages to escape and takes refuge in the Forbidden Forest. Considered the monster of the Chamber of Secrets, Aragog remains
hidden in the forest. Afterwards, Hagrid brings him company: a female Acromantula named Mosag with whom he starts a family.
Harry and Ron meet him in the "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" installment.
The Acromantula, out of respect for Hagrid, never touched a human, however, he offers the two boys as a meal to his daughters and sons. The two young wizards manage to escape
by the skin of their teeth. Aragog reappears in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
Aragog dies in the spring of 1993 due to an illness. Upon his death, the rest of his family becomes violent and, driven out of the Forbidden Forest by Voldemort, attacks Hogwarts during the
Great Battle, attacking both Death Eaters and students of the school.
