Studio Inktvis fell in love with RISO, also known as risograph, because of the intensely colored prints it produces. The RISO printing principle is very similar to silkscreen printing. The final print looks handmade or beautiful, not perfect. The process is also environmentally friendly. The ink is made from fair-trade soybean oil, and the masters are made from Japanese wax paper. The machine consumes very little energy because RISO printing is a cold printing process.
